But this time something inside me said "what the h*ll" and I recently went for it!
Aaaaaand.... on a bright and brisk August Bank Holiday Saturday I was fortunate enough to be part of the first ever Bird In Borrowed Feathers/Handmade Nottingham huge Summer Market, right in the centre of Nottingham. Thankfully, the BIBF market was far more organised than my little stall-ette, with all stallholders provided with a 'proper' market stall-style table complete with green and white stripy canopy! (Which of course we hoped we wouldn't need, but it being England, you never know what the weather might throw at you!)
There was a huge variety of Midlands-based craft talent present, including gorgeous fabric goods made with vibrant African prints from Dendiko, and truly original carved wooden homewares (including wooden bowls with zips in! Zips!!!) from some artisans whose name I didn't catch, will share if I ever find out who they are!
It was an opportunity for me to display some of my new range of recycled textile jewellery, which was very favourably received and garnered a lot of interest. To see some of the pieces I have available, feel free to visit the album on my Facebook page and the 'Recycled Textiles' section of my Etsy shop :)
Here's a behind-the-scenes pic of me on the Saturday - spot the ubiquitous stallholder's coffee cup and that I'm modelling one of my own creations, a bright pink scarf necklace, more of which you can find in my Etsy shop ;) You can see more pictures from the event at the BIBF website here :)
Are you a crafter too? Do you do stalls? Do you prefer the feel of smaller events? Do you apply for larger events? If not, what stops you?
